The Xbox One X releases in a couple of days and we couldn’t be more stoked. Like most people you’ll want to re-download all your games from your Xbox One to your new Xbox One X. Just try not to be surprised when you see the file sizes for most games on the Xbox One X.

Gamers are already used to some hefty download and file sizes for new games. New games have much better graphics, along with many features like online multiplayer capabilities and DLC. Most gamers understand that these new games have been designed much better than in the past.
Xbox wants to really push the capability of running games at native 4K on the Xbox One X, but at the cost of storage space.
For example, Halo 5 has a download size of over 112 GB. Gears of War 4 comes in at 103 GB, and Quantum Break has a file size of 83.7 GB. Also, if you want to download the TV show that’s part of Quantum Break, you’ll end up downloading an extra 75.61 GB.
The Xbox One X comes with 1TB of storage. This may seem like a lot, but if you take the average file size of these games and compare it to what storage space is available to you on the Xbox One X, then you’re looking at only about 10 games you can fit on your console. You know what that means: time to add an external hard drive.
This might disappoint some Xbox fans, but maybe shortly after the initial release of the Xbox One X, Xbox will release an XB1X with much more storage space. Until then, we’ll just continue clearing games for space.
