Sony has released the latest firmware update for the PlayStation 4 but, like 4.70 before it, 4.71 won’t make any drastic changes to your system.
4.71 will improve your system’s performance, which is their main purpose is anyway. No one was expecting anything huge from this, although it’s been a while since any major changes have been made.
It’s an optional update, but required if you want to play online. If you prefer not to watch paint dry then you could always download it in rest mode. At 320MB it won’t take too long to install.
The good news is we’re getting closer to firmware update 5.
